Living in Oregon's Willamette Valley I find myself hungry for the big sky east of the mountains. My landscapes are a product of being deeply rooted in a Hood River orchard where I grew up. Working among the apples allowed me to watch the light move over the landscape and to truly appreciate subtle color changes. I attempt to hold all that is beautiful close to my heart. Shooting photographs at first and last light of the day reveals the essence of the feeling or the place... read more on my website: www.wendydunderart.com[/wpcol_2fifth] [wpcol_2fifth_end id="" class="" style=""] [/wpcol_2fifth_end] ...

Ann Munson ~ Paper Collages, Acrylics on Canvas art, Oregon

Ann Munson ~ Paper Collages, Acrylics on Canvas art, Oregon

Artists statement: My work is three parts, all fun.  First I carve stamps, cut up rubber combs and mix paint.  Then I make my own papers.  It’s pretty much finger painting for grownups. I cover the entire floor of the greenhouse with colored patterned sheets.  Next I draw, tear paper and glue shapes onto canvas.  It looks like a quilt at this stage.  Finally I use transparent acrylics to add dimension, light ,form, and air.  I’m drawn to a push pull of flat shapes and interesting textures vs. subtle color and atmosphere.  The mantra posted in my studio is “Visual complexity; compositional clarity.”  Huh.  Complexity and clarity.  “How did you say this damn thing works?” Visit Ann Munsons's website here: http://www.annmunson.com// // ...

What a visual feast! It is a fairly small venue, with very selected artists, but boy, do they make an impact! I spend a lot of time admiring the uniqueness of the art and crafts on display, and also had a chance to talk to some of the atists, and was immensely in JOY of the whole experience. AND, on the first opening evening they even put on a wine & food feast and what can I say? Yes, there was a long queue, and happy faces all around,  which says it all!...

San Diego Los Angeles Denver Boulder, Colorado Kansas City Minneapolis New York City Robert is a lifelong studio potter with a pronounced interest in craftsmanship and functional design. Over the last decade, he has developed an innovative approach to bronze casting, a refinement of the lost wax technique, wherein sculpture's wax is thrown directly on the potter's wheel.
