Pomm ~ Fine Art Watercolor Artist and Oil painter

Pomm ~ Fine Art Watercolor Artist and Oil painter

A Watercolor Artist Biography: Pomm was born in Los Angeles but was raised by her French mother and grandmother and had a truly bi-cultural upbringing. Her mother, who was born in Paris, read a novel by French authoress Colette in which one of the characters was a little girl named Pomme. She loved the name, which means "apple", and took the "e" off to ensure correct pronunciation. While at college, Pomm moved to France and studied art in Aix-en-Provence. In Europe, Pomm fell in love with the Old World architecture, particularly in the southern regions of France where the sun and flowers inspired her to return again and again. When she returned to America, Pomm made a firm decision to be an artist and attended watercolor classes with Scott Moore in Laguna Beach. She found that she loved the medium. Pomm created and perfected a unique style using only translucent watercolors applied in many layers that allowed her to paint the strong colors,...

Hawaii Oahu Honolulu Waikiki Artists SPECIAL FEATURE

Artists and Craftspeople ~ Hawaii ~ Oahu ~ Honolulu ~ Waikiki and surrounding areas: There is a great community of artists and craftspeople in Hawaii. I visited as many as I could fit into my busy schedule between snorkeling, bodyboarding and sipping Mai Tais at "Dukes Beach Bar". There is a relaxed and warm hearted spirit with the people of Hawaii, and this even resonates into the hearts and soul of many tourists. A friendly, welcoming place. The arts are very extensive and of varied genres. I found carvers, painters, potters, musicians, photographers, jewellers and more. I will show a small selection here and hopefully grow artists presence on artancraftconnection in the coming weeks and month, so visit here again. Tabora GalleryWaikiki The Tabora Gallery is situated in the main hotel and tourist district of Waikiki Beach, in the Outrigger Hotel Complex. About Tabora Art: Tabora's art strikes a cord deep within, sending us to a mystical place where our imagination is free to wander...

Wendy Dunder ~ Paintings, Murals & Illuminated Sculptures, Oregon

[wpcol_1fifth id="" class="" style=""] [/wpcol_1fifth] [wpcol_2fifth id="" class="" style=""]The search for the transcendental light of dawn and dusk. I am enchanted by the light. Living in Oregon's Willamette Valley I find myself hungry for the big sky east of the mountains. My landscapes are a product of being deeply rooted in a Hood River orchard where I grew up. Working among the apples allowed me to watch the light move over the landscape and to truly appreciate subtle color changes. I attempt to hold all that is beautiful close to my heart. Shooting photographs at first and last light of the day reveals the essence of the feeling or the place... read more on my website: www.wendydunderart.com[/wpcol_2fifth] [wpcol_2fifth_end id="" class="" style=""] [/wpcol_2fifth_end] ...

Ann Munson ~ Paper Collages, Acrylics on Canvas art, Oregon

Ann Munson ~ Paper Collages, Acrylics on Canvas art, Oregon

Artists statement: My work is three parts, all fun.  First I carve stamps, cut up rubber combs and mix paint.  Then I make my own papers.  It’s pretty much finger painting for grownups. I cover the entire floor of the greenhouse with colored patterned sheets.  Next I draw, tear paper and glue shapes onto canvas.  It looks like a quilt at this stage.  Finally I use transparent acrylics to add dimension, light ,form, and air.  I’m drawn to a push pull of flat shapes and interesting textures vs. subtle color and atmosphere.  The mantra posted in my studio is “Visual complexity; compositional clarity.”  Huh.  Complexity and clarity.  “How did you say this damn thing works?” Visit Ann Munsons's website here: http://www.annmunson.com// // ...

San Diego Los Angeles Denver Boulder, Colorado Kansas City Minneapolis New York City Robert is a lifelong studio potter with a pronounced interest in craftsmanship and functional design. Over the last decade, he has developed an innovative approach to bronze casting, a refinement of the lost wax technique, wherein sculpture's wax is thrown directly on the potter's wheel. This uncommon technique results in exceptional, one-of-a-kind, carved and pierced, castings of functional, heirloom quality, bronze art. Robert's work is...
